How To Install Calibrate And Use PHS-3C pH Meter?

Before installation, let’s check the packing list.
Packing list: PHS-3C host meter, power cord, holder, E-201F combination electrode 1 piece.
Main parts of the pH meter: display screen, keyboard, holder, electrode.
At the back of the PH meter: measuring electrode interface, reference electrode interface, fuse, power switch, power socket.
Keyboard button: pH/mV, Temp, Slope, Std, Enter.
After you turn on the switch, firstly calibrate the electrode, adjust the temperature by up and down button, then press OK.
Press “pH” button, begin to measure the solution.

How to make buffer reagent?

• ph4.00 standard buffer solution: dissolve the ph4.00 regent in 250ml distilled water.
• ph6.86standard buffer solution: dissolve the ph6.86 regent in 250ml distilled water.
• ph9.18 standard buffer solution: dissolve the ph9.18 regent in 250ml distilled water.

How to install PHS-3C pH Meter?

1. Pull out the bracket under the meter;
2. Loosen the nut under the electrode holder;
3. Install the electrode on the holder and tighten the nut;
4. Connect the power cord, turn on the power switch;
5. The meter enter into the initial state, screen show “0mv”. Generally, the value will not exceed ±0.2mv;
6. Put the electrode on the holder, pull out the short circuit plug, and connect the PHS-3C pH meter and electrode;
7. If you user need to adjust the temperature, use thermometer to measure the temperature of the solution. Then use up and down arrow to adjust the temperature, then press “Enter”.

Use deionized water to clean the electrode.
Dry the electrode with filter paper.
Put the electrode into ph4.00 standard buffer solution.
Wait for the number on the screen to be stable. Then press the “Std” and “Enter”.
Take out the electrode, use deionized water to clean it.
Use filter paper to dry the electrode surface.
Put the electrode into ph9.18 standard buffer solution.
Wait for the number on the screen to be stable. Then press the “Std” and “Enter”.
After it, the screen show slope value.
Take out the electrode, use deionized water to clean it.
Use filter paper to dry the electrode surface.
Put the electrode into ph6.86 standard buffer solution.
We can get the pH value 6.86.
Press “pH/mV” button, can change the unit.

If the value is not correct, you can pull out the electrode, and install the short circuit plug;
If the value in 0±0.2mv, then the meter is normal;
If the value is not correct, long press “Enter” for three seconds;
When the screen show “SYS rSt”, stop pressing “Enter”, the value is flashing, press “Enter” again, the pH meter will reset the electrode calibration slope.

1.PHS-3C pH meter is a precise instrument, must have a high input resistance. So we must keep the input clean and dry. When you don’t use the meter, install the short circuit plug, to prevent the dust and moisture.
2.Meter and power supply should be well grounded.
3.The lead wire of the electrode must remain stationary during the measurement.
4.During the calibration, the solution should not be mismatched, otherwise it will cause errors.
